The sale to a consortium including Aditya Birla Group, The Times of India Group, Bolt Ventures, and Blackstone marks a 16-fold return on the original 2008 investment of $111.6 million. This divestment, deemed 'non-core' by USL, unlocks significant value for its investors and shifts ownership of both IPL and WPL teams. The transaction awaits regulatory approvals and includes additional liabilities and fees raising the effective valuation above ₹18,200 crore.
